BOOK FOR BOTTEGA VENETA

The images of this book, shot by Jack Davison and choreographed by Lenio Kaklea, are from Craft is our Language, a photographic series commissioned by Bottega Veneta to mark the 50th anniversary of Intrecciato. Centred on gestures, the series recognizes hands as the essential tool of this signature craft and as a universal means of making, connection, and communication. Craft is our Language takes inspiration from Bruno Munari’s classic handbook of Italian gestures, Supplemento al Dizionario Italiano, first published in 1963. In individual and paired compositions, the series stages a dialogue across cultures and contexts — between gestures and personality, hand and mind, craft and creativity.
